Barry and I left at 5 am for this camp ground perched high atop the banks of the Connecticut River. We had not been there for about 25 years. . .we had our dog, Belle, with us last time we were there so that tells you how long ago that was. Barry had been invited to talk about our camp meeting heritage at an afternoon service on what has been designated "Heritage Sunday" The camp ground is beautifully maintained and landscaped and the cottages seemed to be in wonderful repair.
This was the chapel that held the morning worship service as welll as Barry 's afternoon message.
Double click on this picture so you can read the plaque on the rock!
There is a part of the old chestnut tree in a glass enclosed case in the camp's museum. Now that the camp has been designated a National Historic Site all the old buildings have received number plaques Our time there flew by.
